Hey there, Disney friends! Today, we are taking a leisurely stroll — or should I say sail — over to one of Walt Disney World’s most elegant and underrated deluxe resorts: Disney’s Yacht Club…perfect for fans who love the balance of luxury, convenience, and coastal charm. So grab your sailor hat and let’s dive into the salty details.
First things first — location, location, location. It just doesn’t get much better. Disney’s Yacht Club sits right on Crescent Lake, next door to its sister resort, the Beach Club, and just a short walk or boat ride away from Disney’s EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Plus, the Skyliner at the international gateway. The prime location makes it perfect for park-hoppers and foodies wanting quick access to EPCOT’s World Showcase.
The vibe at Yacht Club? Picture classic New England yacht club with navy blue and white color palettes, dark wood accents, and model ships proudly on display. It feels more upscale and refined than some other Disney resorts — definitely catering a little more toward adults and couples looking for a little luxury in their stay. If you’re into that coastal elegance, this may just be your dream resort.
The rooms are spacious and sophisticated, with subtle nautical details. You’ll find navy blues, crisp linens, and modern amenities. LOTS of storage to help keep the room tidy, which is a hugs plus! Many rooms have water views — whether that’s Crescent Lake or the serene pools. And, you can get a balcony, which is a total game-changer for morning coffee or watching the Friendship Boats glide by in the evening.
Let’s talk about the real MVP: Stormalong Bay. We were unable to enjoy Stormalong Bay as it is currently undergoing a refurbishment, but, here is the lowdown:
Stormalong Bay is shared with the Beach Club. It is not just a pool; it’s practically a mini water park:
- A lazy river
- A sand-bottom pool
- A massive waterslide built into a shipwreck
- And lots of lounge space for relaxing with a drink in hand
It’s truly the best pool area on Disney property, hands down.
You will also find several other pools on the property if this one isnt your vibe and you are looking for a more quiet pool experience.
Yacht Club doesn’t play when it comes to food; there are some great restaurants but for us, this is the only place where Yatch Club itself falls slightly short. It isn’t that the food is bad at all but there just isn’t a lot of variety. Luckily, Boardwalk is a quick walk away and has a lot of great options! For Yatch Club, you’ll find:
- Ale & Compass Restaurant offers elevated comfort food with a little flair — think lobster rolls, hearty breakfasts, and seasonal cocktails.
- Yachtsman Steakhouse is the signature experience here — ideal for a romantic dinner or special occasion. It’s upscale, with buttery steaks and elegant service.
Oh — and don’t forget you’re steps away from EPCOT dining heaven as well!
Getting around when staying at Disney’s Yatch Club is chef’s kiss:
- Walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway in under 10 minutes
- Take a Friendship Boat to Hollywood Studios
- Hop on a bus to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom
- Bonus: you’re close to the Skyliner, even if it’s not directly at your resort
For park-hopping, it doesn’t get much better.
Disney’s Yacht Club is ideal for:
- Adults and couples
- EPCOT fans and foodies
- Business travelers
- Families with older kids or teens that like that laid back, relaxed and chill vibe.
- Anyone who loves water activities and a more relaxed, refined stay
If you’ve got little kids and want lots of Disney theming in your room — this might not be your perfect fit. There isn’t a bug DISNEY theme anywhere on property. But if you want that grown-up Disney magic? This is it.
So, here’s my take: Yacht Club is a hidden gem. It might not have the same hype as the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian, but it holds its own with elegance, location, and amenities. Plus, the location alone is worth the stay.
If you’re looking for a deluxe resort that feels like a peaceful retreat while keeping you close to the action, Disney’s Yacht Club is 100% worth the splurge.
