Packing for an adults-only Disney Cruise,

packing for a Disney Cruise

Packing for the adults-only Disney Cruise portion of an upcoming trip, because yes… that’s a thing. And no, there won’t be any screaming toddlers—just me, screaming over the amazing views. We’ve never been on a cruise and honestly, I was opposed to it for a while. The more I learned about Disney Cruise Line, the more I came around to it. I didn’t really love the idea of taking our whole family yet though. I want to check it out first. I want to know my way around first. I just want to make sure I feel good about it before I bring the kids. We have friends with similiar thinking…..SO, Disney Cruise here we come. The cruise is booked, the plans are made, the documents are approved, the luggage tags have arrived. So, I’m packing for a Disney Cruise like it’s my Oscars red carpet moment… but with sunscreen. Here’s what I’m bringing so I can live my best nautical Disney adult life:

✔️ Swimsuits (at least 2, because apparenlty nothing dries fast on a cruise) one for the pool, one for the hot tub, and maybe one for pretending I don’t care who’s watching while I eat soft serve in a tankini on Castaway Cay.
✔️ Cute cover-up for walking around the WISH pretending I’m in a resort commercial
✔️ Flip-flops for pool vibes
✔️ Sandals that look cute but feel like I won’t have to ditch them by 10 p.m.

✔️ Dinner outfits: 2 cute dinner outfits. Outfits that say: I’m classy… but I also might end up dancing at on the deck before heading back to our room. And 3 casual outfits: shorts, tanks, Mickey ears, you know the drill

✔️ Pirate Night outfit. Yes, I know it’s optional. I don’t care. Yes, I packed for Pirate Night. I don’t care if it’s ‘for kids.’ I came to drink rum and sing Yo Ho Yo Ho in a cute skirt.
✔️ Lightweight sweater (I hear those ships get chilly when you least expect it)

Cruise essentials:

✔️ Lanyard for my Key to the World card

✔️ Tumbler for staying hydrated

✔️ Small backpack or beach bag for Castaway Cay
✔️ Portable fan because I sweat like Olaf in July
✔️ Reusable straw: save the turtles, sip the cocktails

✔️ Sunscreen (reef-safe, we’re classy)
✔️ Aloe (because I never learn)
✔️ Sea-sickness patches or bands/Dramamine
✔️ All the skincare I pretend I’m consistent with
✔️ Essentials like razors, shave cream, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and that tiny perfume that makes me feel expensive

✔️ Chargers, AirPods, and a portable battery
✔️ Travel docs: passport, cruise confirmation, dreams of unlimited soft serve
✔️ A book I won’t read but will feel accomplished for bringing

✔️ Sun hat? Check.

✔️ Sunglasses? Check.

✔️ Attitude of someone who booked this trip for spa robes and room service? Double check.
✔️ And finally, one empty duffel bag… for the merch I definitely don’t need but definitely will buy.

Am I overpacking? Maybe. But this is my moment. No children. No lines. Just adults, ocean views, and a ridiculous amount of coffee and Mickey-shaped food. I am ready for poolside drinks, fine dining, and pretending this is my origin story as a Disney adult icon.

I may be overpacked, but I’m also overprepared and on my way to a few peaceful days and possibly falling in love with a cruise ship. Let’s sail. Bon voyage, baby!

Until next time, Stay Magical!
