Disney World Packing Checklist

Ultimate-Disney-World-Vacation-Packing-Checklist

Hey Disney Friends, we hope that today we can help you plan smarter, pack better, and experience every drop of pixie dust on your Disney World vacation. We’re talking about one of the most important—and most forgotten and probably least fun—parts of trip planning:

Pack. Like. A. Pro.

Because nothing ruins your day faster than getting to the park and realizing you forgot your sunscreen… or your socks… or worse, your MagicBand. So whether you’re headed to Walt Disney World for the first time or you’re a seasoned Annual Passholder who still overpacks (guilty!), today we’re breaking down the Ultimate Disney World Vacation Packing List.

Must-Have Park Essentials

First up: what you absolutely need to bring into the parks every day.

  • Comfortable Walking Shoes – You’ll walk 7–10 miles a day. Don’t bring cute shoes. Bring smart cute shoes and several pairs. We love Hokas , Brooks or New Balance around here!
  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses – Florida sun doesn’t play. Apply and reapply throughout the day. We love these stickers that let you know when it is time to reapply!
  • Poncho or Lightweight Rain Jacket – Afternoon showers are as common as Dole Whip. Pack one—you’ll thank me. Small Umbrellas are also a great option as they can be used for the rain and shade from the sun!
  • Mini First-Aid Kit – Band-aids, Advil, maybe a blister pad. Magic Kingdom is not the place to discover a new pair of shoes causes pain. A small first aid kit can make or break a day, sometimes!

Tip: Pack Ziploc bags! Use them for wet clothes, snacks, and for protecting electronics on water rides.

What to Pack for Your Hotel Stay

Let’s talk suitcase packing. Here’s your essentials list for the resort and downtime:

  • Comfortable Clothes – Think breathable fabrics, especially in summer.
  • Pool Gear – Swimsuit, cover-up, flip-flops, goggles and floaties.
  • Pajamas – Because no one wants end up having to sleep in their park clothes after sweating all day.
  • Extra Socks & Undies – Trust me. You’ll want more than you think.
  • Toiletries – Disney provides some basics, but bring what you love: toothpaste, hairbrush, deodorant, floss, etc.
  • Cleaning Wipes – I always bring cleaning wipes for the resort room as well. You never know when you might need them!
  • ✅ Don’t forget any medications, vitamins or supplments you may need! I also take ice packs because those long park days can be hard on the knees! And, my cold cap for fightning off migraines.

Tip: A pop-up hamper or laundry bag keeps dirty clothes from invading your hotel room like the First Order. You NEED this!

Traveling with Kids

Parents, this one’s for you:

  • Snacks – Disney food is great, but quick snacks can save hunger meltdowns.
  • Headphones – For fireworks or for long lines. Noise-canceling are the best!
  • Stroller (or you can rent one) – Even older kids get tired and there’s no shame in giving those little legs a break.
  • Age appropriate Cups – Lifesavers in the park.
  • Wet Wipes – For cleaning spills and messy faces! You will use these more times than you can imagine!
  • Entertainment for Wait Times – Coloring books, small toys, bubble wands, etc.

Tip: Bring an outfit change—even for older kids. Between spills, water rides, and Mickey Bars, it’s almost a guarantee that you’ll need it. I even take extras for myself!

Tech, Docs & Magic Extras

And don’t forget these key items:

  • Tickets / MagicBands / Park Reservations – Link everything in the My Disney Experience app!
  • My Disney Experience App – Your park command center: maps, wait times, mobile order, Genie+, and more.
  • Credit Cards / ID – Even if you use MagicBand+, you’ll want a backup.
  • Travel Insurance Info – Just in case.
  • Camera or GoPro – If you want to level up your content game.

Tip: Screenshot your reservation information and Lightning Lane times in case the app crashes. It is rare but it happens.

Magical Extras:

Want to go from tourist to pro? Pack these little extras:

  • Glow Sticks or Bubble Wands – Save money by bringing your own. Great for night shows!
  • Autograph Book & Pen – For meeting characters—yes, it’s still a thing, and it’s adorable.
  • Disney-Themed Outfits or Ears – It’s not required, but it is oh so much fun.
  • ✅ Cooling Towels or Neck Fans – For summer months especially.
  • $1 Bills for Mousekeeping Tips – If you get service, it’s a nice gesture!

Final Thoughts: Pack Light but Smart

Disney World is magical, but it’s also a marathon. And the more prepared you are, the more relaxed you’ll feel. Don’t overpack, but don’t underpack either. It is a balancing act, for sure. Think comfort, convenience, and a little bit of character.
