Hello, Disney friends! Today we’re reviewing a resort that practically invented theme-park luxury: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Stepping off the monorail and into that soaring five-story lobby still gives me goosebumps. Even with the construction walls up for the 2025 lobby re-imagining, the chandeliers, live piano, and that subtle scent scream classic Disney opulence. Side note: our home shares the same scent with our Magic Candle Company diffuser and oils! So, I’m obviously a little biased. But, that smell gets me every time!
True, the famed birdcage centerpiece is gone—Imagineers are replacing it with a Victorian-inspired lobby bar opening later this year. We snagged concept art after the press release, and the stained-glass panels actually echo the cage’s silhouette and it is stunning.
Important holiday note: the life-size gingerbread house won’t return for Christmas 2025 while the lobby is under refurbishment. Heartbreaking, but they promise it’s temporary.
Our room was in the recently refurbished Boca Chica building—light-oak floors, beautiful gold accents, and Mary Poppins artwork. USB-C ports galore, legit blackout curtains, and that balcony view straight to Cinderella Castle fireworks. This view still lives in my dreams! #hearteyesemoji
DVCers: the villas got the same treatment last year, plus kitchenette upgrades. If you’re a bathtub-soaker, request an outer building; the main-tower deluxe studios swapped tubs for rainfall showers.
1900 Park Fare – Returned after a four-year hiatus in April 2024 with a new Wish-Makers character lineup: Prince Ali, Mirabel, Tiana, and Cinderella. These are some of the best character interactions! We love 1900 Park Fare and were so ecstatic when it reopened. It is beautiful and such a fun experience. The breakfast buffet is the real deal. They also have one of my favorite Cappicinos ever!
To sum it up, a 10 out of 10 . Even with the construction, the Grand Floridian somehow nails Disney elegance. It’s perfect for couples celebrating milestones, spa-day fans, and anyone chasing that luxury Disney vibe.
