A Perfect Day in Hollywood Studios

perfect day in hollywood studios

On the list for today…., we’re taking you on a perfect day through Disney’s Hollywood Studios. So if you’re planning a trip — or just daydreaming — buckle up and get ready for a little lights, camera… magic!

MORNING

Alright, you know I am NOT a Rope Drop girlie but sometimes to get it all done, it is best if your perfect day starts early — we’re talking 7-7:30 AM arrival, especially if you’re aiming to ride the big ones without a crazy wait.
The top of that list is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. No matter how many times you’ve done it, that ride is a total experience from beginning to end. Get to Galaxy’s Edge early and hit it first. After Rise of the Resistance, you’re still in Batuu — so take time to explore. Grab the oh so popular cold Blue Milk, or my personal favorite, a Space Coffee from Kat Saka’s Kettle while you are in the area! If you need a snack there’s the fan favorite Ronto Wrap from Ronto Roasters.

Then make your way to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Try to be the pilot at least once — it’s chaos, but so fun. After that, hop over to Toy Story Land and hit Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania. Don’t forget to snap some adorable pics around the Toy Story Land!

QUICK SERVICE LUNCH

By now, it’s lunchtime — and our go-to spot is Woody’s Lunch Box. Check out the BBQ brisket melt and Totchos are a must-have. If you can’t find a seat, mobile order and take your lunch to the shady seating near One Man’s Dream — a quiet little gem.

AFTERNOON – SHOWS & THRILLS

Alright, time to cool off and slow down just a bit. This is the perfect time for a show — Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular or Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage. Both are classics. There are NEW shows opening soon: The reimagined “The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure” is back and the brand new “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” is making its debut! These are both planned to open on May 27th. While I’m sure they will be packed for quite a while, try to squeeze them in, if you can!
Then it’s time for thrills. If that’s your thing, you have to do The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the currently being rethemed Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster when it reopens as Disney’s first ride to feature The Muppets. If you didn’t snag a Lightning Lane for these, the lines usually dip a bit mid-afternoon.

LATE AFTERNOON

Need a break? Head into Walt Disney Presents — it’s an underrated walk-through with some great Disney history and usually no crowds. This is one of my absolute favorite ‘breaks’ because I love the history of the parks so much!
Or, you can catch some character moments! You’ll usually find Pixar faves near the entrance of Toy Story Land and Star Wars characters roaming Galaxy’s Edge.

TABLE SERVICE DINNER

For dinner, let’s go big. The Hollywood Brown Derby is iconic — amazing Cobb salad, elegant atmosphere, and a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the park. SO Yummy, too!
Or if you want fun and nostalgia, book 50’s Prime Time Café — the servers are sassy and you’ll feel like you stepped into grandma’s kitchen. Keep your toys (phones!) put away and elbows off the table!

EVENING – NIGHT MAGIC

Now this is where the park really shines. Head back to Galaxy’s Edge at night — it’s a totally different vibe. The lighting, the atmosphere, the sounds — it’s cinematic.

Then grab your spot for Fantasmic! — it’s back and it’s better than ever. Fireworks, water effects, and Mickey being the ultimate sorcerer? It really doesn’t get any better than that!
And don’t forget that last ride on Slinky Dog, the wait times might drop later in the evening. The park is magical at night and that coaster is pure joy at any time of day but extra magical at night.

So that’s our perfect day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios — a little thrill, a lot of magic, and a ton of great memories.
