There are beach trips… and then there are the kind that reset your whole mood. Our recent getaway to Perdido Key was exactly that.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into a slower, softer version of life; the kind where the only real decisions are “pool or beach?” and “another drink or just one more?”

We stayed at the beautiful Windemere Condominiums, and honestly, it set the tone for the entire trip. The AirBNB hosts were incredible! Our condo sat right on the Gulf, with floor-to-ceiling views that never got old. Each morning started the same way: coffee in hand, salty air, and the quiet hope that we’d catch a glimpse of dolphins. And we did, more than once. Watching them glide through the water from our balcony felt like one of those small, perfect moments you wish you could bottle up.

The private beach access made everything easy. No crowds, no stress, ust soft sand, the sound of waves, and chairs waiting for us. When we weren’t down by the water, we were posted up at the pool, which somehow had just as incredible of a view. It became our little rotation: beach, pool, snacks, repeat.

Evenings slowed down in the best way. We spent them gathered around with friends, playing board games, laughing a little too loud, and enjoying that rare feeling of having nowhere else to be. Good drinks, easy conversations, and that golden-hour glow that seems to last forever at the beach.

And then there was the food.

One standout was Flora-Bama Yacht Club, and “phenomenal” honestly doesn’t do it justice. Fresh food, a laid-back waterfront vibe, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you linger longer than you planned. Even though FloraBama is a behemouth, it somehow felt like a true local gem, the kind of place you talk about long after the trip is over.

This wasn’t a packed itinerary kind of vacation. It was slow, simple, and exactly what we needed. The kind of trip where memories aren’t made from big events, but from small, meaningful moments; morning coffee, shared meals, sunset views, and time spent with people who make everything better. Perdido Key has a way of doing that. And we’re already talking about when we can go back. But first, we need to go HOME to Disney!
