When people ask me what the best part of a Disney Cruise Line vacation is, my answer comes without hesitation: Castaway Cay. • Snorkeling: Exploring the underwater trails was incredible! Disney has hidden surprises beneath the surface; sunken treasures and even a few Disney statues you can find while snorkeling.
• Biking: Renting bikes was such a fun way to see the island. The paths are flat, scenic, and give you a chance to see a different side of Castaway Cay.
• Castaway Cay 5K: For runners (and walkers), the 5K is a unique experience. What better bragging rights than saying you did a 5K on Disney’s private island?
• Floating in Paradise: The water here is unbelievably clear, some of the clearest I’ve ever seen. Floating and swimming in the calm lagoon felt like being in a postcard.

Of course, Disney makes sure you’re well-fed during your day ashore. Lunch is included at the island’s BBQ spots, and the food is plentiful and delicious; burgers, chicken, fresh fruit, and tropical treats. It’s the perfect beach picnic to refuel between adventures.

Castaway Cay is the Highlight of a Disney Cruise. It is more than just a port stop, it’s a full-day experience that combines Disney service with the beauty of the Bahamas. Whether you’re snorkeling, biking, racing in the 5K, or simply relaxing on the beach with a cool drink, every moment feels magical.

For me, Castaway Cay was hands down the highlight of the cruise. It’s the day I’ll remember most vividly: the sun, the sea, the adventures, and that feeling of being in a place only Disney could dream up.
