Our Disney Wish cruise was a dream come true, filled with sunshine, magic, and some seriously great meals. Here’s a quick rundown of the highlights!
Day 1: Setting Sail
From the moment we boarded the Disney Wish, we were in awe of how stunning the ship was. The spacious atrium, the glamorous decor, and the overall vibe were exactly what we hoped for. We explored the ship, checked out the pools, the beautiful spa and got acquainted with the amazing amenities. The excitement of setting sail was palpable!
Stop 1: The Bahamas
Our first stop was the Bahamas, and while we were excited to explore, the weather was brutally hot. We tried to make the most of it, but after a short time, the sweltering heat had grabbing a few souvenirs and sent us retreating back to the ship for some relief. It wasn’t exactly the tropical experience we imagined, but the comfort of the ship, with its cool air conditioning, made up for it.
Stop 2: Castaway Cay
Now, Castaway Cay was an entirely different story! The weather was perfect here—just the right amount of sun and breeze. We kicked things off with some snorkeling, and the crystal-clear water did not disappoint. We saw vibrant fish and even a stingray and what we think was a baracuda gliding past. Afterward, we rented bikes and explored the island. It was a leisurely ride with gorgeous views, and the peaceful atmosphere of the island was perfect for unwinding. Grabbed some lunch and then went back to snorkel again because it was my absolute highlight of the trip!
Quick Service Favorites:
- Daisy’s Pizza Place: When we were looking for a quick and tasty bite, Daisy’s Pizza Place came through. The pizza was delicious—crispy crust, fresh toppings, and a satisfying mix of flavors. It’s a great casual option when you’re in the mood for a laid-back meal.
- Donald’s Cantina: Another favorite stop for a quick bite was Donald’s Cantina. We loved the build-your-own taco and burrito options, where we could customize everything just the way we wanted. The fresh ingredients and bold flavors made it a standout for casual dining.
Coffee Stops:
There’s something magical about enjoying a great cup of coffee while on a Disney cruise, and we found our go-to spot at The Enchanted Swordsman coffee bar. We made several stops throughout the cruise for a quick pick-me-up, whether it was a perfectly brewed espresso or a sweet iced drink. It became our little ritual, and the cozy, sophisticated vibe of the place was always welcoming. I am an admitted coffee snob. I prefer my own coffee at home over any coffee shop every single time but THIS coffee was really good and always decorated with a cute design on top. We made fast friends with JHON at the Enchanted Swordsman too which was an extra bonus. Great cast member experience!
Dining Experiences:
- 1923: Our first sit-down dinner was at 1923, and it was an absolute highlight. The art-deco design was elegant, and the food was incredible. Every dish felt special, from appetizers to dessert. A great way to kick off our cruise dining experience!
- Marvel’s Avengers: Quantum Encounter: This dinner experience was a blast! It was an interactive dining show where the Avengers brought the action to life. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience, with superheroes, villains, and plenty of entertainment to keep us engaged. The food was great, and the entertainment was cool but it felt like we had to rush through it so get there early!
- Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure: This Frozen-themed dinner was as magical as it sounds. Snow falling, live music, and appearances by the characters made it feel like we were dining in Arendelle itself. The food was wonderful, and the performance had everyone smiling, singing and dancing. The Oaken really stole the show and the interactive Olaf was amazing! Definitely one of the most fun and unique dining experiences ever!
Final Thoughts:
The Disney Wish cruise was everything we dreamed of and more. The Bahamas may have been too hot, but Castaway Cay made up for it with its perfect weather and stunning scenery. We had a blast trying out both the quick-service spots like Daisy’s Pizza Pies and Donald’s Cantina, as well as indulging in the more elaborate dining experiences at 1923, Marvel, and Arendelle. The coffee stops at The Enchanted Swordsman gave us a perfect cozy retreat in between all the fun. The combination of incredible food, amazing entertainment, and Disney magic made this cruise one for the books!
