I often refer to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort as our ‘old favorite’ because it really is our go-to Disney home for family vacations. It is such a great resort, located on the Skyliner route with so much space, two bathrooms(!) and amazing walkability. We love taking strolls around the lake in the evenings to grab some food at Landscape of Flavors and watch the skyliner gondolas pass by.
The separate bedroom gives us some privacy at night while the kids sleep in the main living room area that has a pullout bed or the dining table that folds down murphy bed style! They have their own bathroom as well, which makes getting ready in the mornings so much easier or those post parks showers move so much faster.
There is a lot to enjoy about Disney’s Art of Animation Resorts and the theming is pretty high on the list. If you love an over the top theme, this is definitely the place for you. Lion King, Cars, and Fidning Nemo family suites are available as well as The Little Mermaid rooms. When our kids were little this was perfect for them. We walked around taking pictures with Lightning McQueen and went searching for Squirt and Dory! The over the top decor made it easy for them to guide us back to our room, too! The knew we had to walk under the fallen tree with Simba, Timone and Pumba or it we had to go past the Big Blue Pool or maybe the Cozy Cone Pool. Each trip felt a little different because we could stay in a new theme but still felt like home because we knew our way around.
We stay in a variety of places these days, but I think Art of Animation will always have a special place in our hearts. There are so many benefits to AoA, including it being one of Disney’s pet friendly options AND, to top it all off, it is a value resort!
