We all take vacations to make memories. We want to relax and we want to have fun and explore new places but ultimately, we want the memories. Memories are always magical at Disney World, obviously. I think so many people try to plan those memories. Schedule them. Reserve them. Over the years, I have realized that the memories create themselves. Don’t stress if you don’t get the perfect time for your reservation or if you miss out on a virtual queue because you overslept. The memories are still happening and they are still magical, maybe even more so! The best memories are the unplanned moments. The things that our children remember most are the funny pictures from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the impromptu Christmas dinner at Kona Cafe, and all of the times I pretend to be terrified on the Skyliner, which I actually love. Those are the moments that they remember years later. They don’t remember the time we didn’t get to ride Rise of the Resistance because it was down. Speaking of ROTR, that is another favorite memory….standing in line for an eternity, getting stuck as soon as we got buckled in and being stopped for so long (somewhere north of 45 minutes, I think) and then evacuated from the ride, the park being closed by the time we made it out and running through the park because we were going to be late for a Kona Cafe dinner reservation and having to call and reschedule it while running through the park. Sounds frustrating, right? It was SO MUCH FUN! Chatting with the castmembers and people stuck on the ride with us, laughing with our friends, getting TWO Lightning Lane Passes as we excited, making it to Kona Cafe and having the best Castmember wait on us, eating amazing food, drinking fabulous drinks, retelling the story a million times now because it STILL makes me laugh! In fact, I am wishing I was there now. The empty park, the lights, the cool Florida air, all of it…MAGICAL.
