Man, you really love Disney! How many times can you go to Disney? Don’t you get tired of going to Disney World? You go to Disney too much! Isn’t it expensive to go to Disney all the time? All Questions/Comments/Concerns I’ve heard many times. The eye rolls, so many eye rolls.

It kind of makes me giggle now to think about the miserable people in my life (formerly in my life) that would place so much hate on Disney World. I wrote something recently about Disney Lover Haters and how miserable they must be. But, today I want to focus on some of the things that we LOVE about Disney.

The Overall Atmosphere. When you hear about the Disney bubble, it really is true. Once you pass under that Walt Disney World sign, you can park your car at the resort and leave it until it is time to travel home. There is really no reason to leave the bubble. You can get everything you need and free transportation to anywhere you need to go within the bubble. It truly lets you ‘leave the world behind’ while on vacation. It is clean and it smells great! There is plenty of nature and wildlife. Let’s break things down a bit…(in no particular order)…

1. The Food (and drinks) To say we have a few favorites would be putting it mildly. We often talk about our favorite breakfast place, dinner place, coffee, etc because there isn’t just a favorite restaurant, we have to break it down into further categories. We will be breaking down these
2. The Resorts are some of the most consistent places we have stayed. There are so many benefits to staying on property. The resorts all have their own theme and make you feel as if you are staying somewhere new each time.
3. The Rides. As someone who isn’t a huge fan of rollercoasters, but has a thrill seeking family, we have found the perfect blend. There really are rides for all. Family friendly, thrill rides, water rides, slow moving rides and numerous shows and attractions. We are never at a loss of something to do next.
4. The Transportation. We LOVE parking our car at the resort and utilizing Disney transporation. You can get anywhere rather quickly. If you are tired at the end of the day, it makes a world of difference if all you have to do is hop aboard a skyliner to get back to your bed.
5. The Security. I have never felt unsafe in Disney World. I know things can happen anywhere. Kids can get lost anywhere. People can get hurt anywhere. Things happen. But overall, I have always felt safe and secure. I feel like there is help at every corner if you do need it.
6. The Discovery. One of our favorite things to do on a couples trip is just walk around. Explore the parks and find the things we have never seen on previous trips, because there is always something! Discovering new festival booths, restaurants at which, we’ve never dined, shows maybe the kids didn’t want to do or maybe we didn’t even know existed until we stumbled across them on an adult only vacation.
7. The Freedom. We can do whatever we want. All vacations come with a certain amount of freedom I suppose. Disney World vacations are on another level though. The freedom to do as you please, when you want. With the exception of some dining reservations and an occassional Virtual Queue, we don’t set out with many plans. We wake up and decide where we want to go and figure out what we want to do along the way. We park hop as we please. We eat when and where we want. We ride what we choose at any given moment. The freedom of NOT having a schedule to stick with has become more and more pleasant over the years.
8. The Quality Time. Quality time with loved ones is not always easy to come by these days. If we are at home, there is always something to do, things have to get done, kids have school and extracurricular activities. Older kids have real grown up jobs now. My husband and I have full time careers. The house needs cleaning, the lawn needs mowing, there is always something to do. But, in Disney, we are able to enter that bubble and leave all of that behind. We don’t have to discuss managing finances with our older kids or worry about healping the younger ones with probabilities and civics homework.
9. The Cleanliness. I think Disney World is incredibly clean in comparison to most theme parks. We’ve been to a lot and I always compare to Disney. I know there were a few years recently where some things were not the best but in our recent trips, Disney World is once again the cleanest. I tend to scope out the resort rooms before unpacking and lately they have been spotless. The bathrooms at the park, incredibly clean again. No trash on the ground as you walk through the parks either. The cleanliness was always so important to me. In those recent years where that suffered a bit, I was really disappointed. I am so glad that part of the Magic is pack!
10. The Ease. I know most people don’t think a Disney World vacation is easy. But, I could pack a bag tonight and leave for Disney in the morning with zero plans and not be the least bit stressed about it. It really has become a Home to us in a lot of ways. Most people pick up and go to the beach, I suppose. We pick up and go to Disney World (for the same expense level or even less than a beach trip!) when we want a spontaneous getaway.

To each, their own. But for us, it is usually Disney. 🙂
